PROGRESS AND PROSPECTS IN RUBIDIUM FREQUENCY STANDARDS

Abstract
Recent results which may lead to improvements of the passive rubidium frequency standards are discussed. The problem of the light shift is examined in relation to the hyperfine filtering technique used. The power shift and the buffer gas shift are discussed. Results on the use of a wall coating are reported. Finally, the frequency stability realizable is examined
