Abstract
Responses to survey questions may be markedly affected not only by such aspects of the interview situation as interviewer rapport, respondent anonymity, and psychological and sociological differences between interviewer and respondent, but by the personal orientation of the respondent. As an example of distinctive personal orientation, how does the personality of aged respondents affect survey results? This unusually perceptive exploration into the problem is based on analyses of Gallup surveys. Keywords
