Abstract
Distributed systems are expected to support mobilecomputations executed over a computer network offixed and mobile hosts. This paper examines the requirementsfor structuring such mobile computationsthat access shared data in a database, argues that opennestingcan better facilitate these requirements, andproposes an Open-Nested Transaction model in a mobileenvironment using the notion of Reporting Transactionsand Co-Transactions.1 IntroductionThe wide use of portable computers, in...Keywords
