Inside-of-the-Body Test

Abstract
A new psychological test to study concepts of the inside of the human body. Drawings of the inside of the human body were obtained by testing persons at a naval hospital. Preliminary results revealed that cardiovascular and gastrointestinal systems were most frequently represented, and certain parts of the body were often emphasized or omitted. Children drew many skeletomuscular structures and generally omitted genitals. While the quality of a drawing afforded useful indications of personality and psychopathology, further study is necessary in the use of the test for psychiatric screening and investigation of psychosomatic problems.
