Modified Track Structure Calculation of Thermoluminescent Yields to Heavy Charged Particles

Abstract
Tracks of heavy charged particles are presented as a combination of uniform elementary excitation (so called spurs) with fixed volume and dose. An expression for the calculation of HCP track efficiency relative to gamma efficiency was derived. This expression was used to calculate the relative efficiency of an LiF:Mg, Ti detector to HCPs with energies from 0.01 to 1000 MeV per nucleon. The calculations were found to be in good agreement with the experimental data.
