Childhood onset of benign positional vertigo

Abstract
Benign positional vertigo (BPV) rarely occurs in children, but we identified three members of a family who developed BPV before age 13 years. All three had migraine headaches and two had spontaneous episodes of vertigo. Vasospasm associated with migraine possibly resulted in ischemic damage to the utricular macule, leading to the development of BPV in these patients.
