Abstract
The extraction of tetravalent americium by dioctyl-amine from Q.05-2.5 M H2SO4. solutions containing potassium phosphotungstate (k10P2W17o61) in concentrations 10−3;-10−2 M has been investigated. The effect of H2SO4 k10P2W17o61and dioctlamine concentrations on the extraction behaviour of americium (IV) has been studied. It has been established that dioctylamine in dichloro-ethane can be used for quantitative extraction of ameri-cium(IV) from 0.05-1.0 M H2SO4 containing k10P2W17o61 The presence of americium(IV) in the organic phase has been confirmed spectrophotometrically. Keywords
