Abstract
Hexosediphos-phoric acid can be isolated in the form of a crystalline salt, from the expressed juice of dog''s muscle, but is absent from fresh muscle. Storage of the muscle juice results in the formation of phosphoric acid and lactic acid in equimolecular quantities. Determination of the rate of hydrolysis of the different phosphoric acid compounds in muscle showed that hexosediphosphoric acid is formed during the process of preparation of the muscle juice. Hexosediphosphoric acid is therefore considered to be the lactic acid precursor to which the name "Lactacidogen" had previously been given. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
