Abstract
Human parathyroid hormone was extracted from parathyroid tumors and purified 40,000-fold to a stage apparently homogeneous on polyacrylamide electrophoresis. The course of purification was monitored by radioimmunoassay modified for rapid analysis of the limited amounts of hormone available from human parathyroid tumors. The molecular size and charge properties of human and bovine parathyroid hormone are similar, but distinct differences in animo acid composition exist. These structural differences presumably account for the documented differences in immunological properties. (Endocrinology89: 234, 1971)This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
