Abstract
The enthalpies of formation of Au — Te solid and liquid alloys were measured by direct reaction calorimetry in the temperature range 728 < T/K < 1200. At T/K = 728 and xTc = 0.667, hf = −2.50 kJ mol−1 for solid alloys with reference to both solid components; at T/K = 737 and xTe = 0.60, h'min = —1.10kJ mol‐1 for liquid alloys with reference to both liquid components. ‐ The breaks observed on these enthalpy‐of‐formation curves versus mole fraction as well as some additional differential thermal analysis measurements provide us some points of the liquidus. — Consistent set of thermodynamical data is proposed on the basis of the best agreement between the experimental phase diagram and the computed one. Keywords
