Vascular Heterograft: Human Umbilical Cord Vein as an Aortic Substitute in Baboon

Abstract
Human umbilical cord vein was employed as an arterial substitute for the infrarenal aorta in baboons. The veins were found patent at the time of removal, three days to eight weeks after implantation. Formation of aneurysms occurred in grafts implanted three weeks or longer.
