Abstract
The discussion upon the teaching of physics in schools raises the question, how far do the subjects taught for the A level examination serve as an introduction to more advanced courses ? Some indication may be given by the results of a test which was given recently to 25 students beginning a course for the Diploma in Technology in Applied Physics. Most of the students had passed A level in physics and mathematics, and the others had passed examinations of similar character.
