Abstract
To determine the protective effect of vit. C and P against an L.D. 85 dose of dichlorophenarsine hydrochloride, 111 mice were given 27 mg. of the arsenical alone, and 112 the same dose plus 2.2 mg. of ascorbic acid. The latter group had been given 1 mg. hesperidin methyl chalcone (vit. P) daily for 9 days prior to administering the arsenical, and were given this amt. daily for the 3 days following. When the arsenical was given alone, the survival was 27%, when vit. C and P were also given, it was 82%. The difference was statistically significant. Keywords
