Abstract
To the Editor: H. S. Jacobs, in his editorial comment (N Engl J Med 295:954, 1976), recommends treating infertility, associated with a suspected prolactin-secreting adenoma, with irradiation and bromocriptine. However, this drug is not available for general use in this country and is proscribed during the menstrual cycle of conception. Pituitary irradiation, as Dr. Jacobs points out, may not be of value in preventing pituitary enlargement in subsequent pregnancy.
