Abstract
Cell nuclei from liver, spleen and thymus were isolated in 0.25 [image] sucrose and were extracted with physiological salt solution, dilute acids, non-ionic detergent, molar NaCl solution, and with dilute and concentrated alkalies. The residues were embedded in artificial resin and studied with the electron microscope. Thus from the analytical studies it was possible to clarify some uncertain matters. Isolated nuclei and mitochondria showed themselves to be considerably more resistant to mechanical and chemical action than has been assumed previously. In the comparative testing of the various media for isolation 0.25 [image] sucrose proved to be superior to others. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
