Abstract
An attempt was made to relate hypnotic susceptibility to an objective measure of compliance in a real-life setting. Hypnotic susceptibility scores for 235 college graduates, who graduated between the years 1971–1979, were compared to their records for alumni annual giving. Those who had made at least 1 contribution to the college since graduation were significantly higher in hypnotic susceptibility than those who had made no contribution. The results suggest that willingness to respond to a persuasive appeal may be related to a person's susceptibility to hypnosis. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
