Abstract
This article examines the concept of organizational climate and its metaphorical derivation. Research into individual, group, and organizational behavior influenced by climate is described. The relationships between organizational climate and other outcomes such as productivity and profitability are also described, and the main methodological debates in the field are discussed. An illustrative model of climate is presented and the distinction between climate and culture is explored. The main problem in the study of this phenomenon remains whether it is possible to demonstrate that people in the same organizations agree about their perceptions of organizational climate. The phenomenological validity of the notion of organizational climate continues to attract strong support. Keywords
