Abstract
The name PSAMMOPHAGA simplora gen. et. sp. nov. is proposed for a finely agglutinated monothalamous saccamminid recently discovered in the shallow inshore waters of California''s Monterey Bay. The new foraminifer is distinguished by its simple aperture, its habit of concentrating ingested mineral particles in its protoplast, and the polygenomic state of its primary nucleus, the latter a feature not previously encountered in agglutinated foraminifera. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
