Abstract
Because blood loss has been a concern in reduction mammaplasty, a prospective double-blind study was undertaken to determine whether instillation of an epinephrine solution into the breast parenchyma would reduce blood loss during this procedure. the inferior glandular pedicle technique was used with each patient serving as her own control. A significant reduction in operative blood loss compared with the control solution was observed. We believe that instillation of an epinephrine solution should be a routine part of the reduction mammaplasty procedure. Keywords
