Abstract
A laboratory apparatus for making hollow fiber membranes by the solution spinning process is described. Several hollow fiber membranes from polysulfone (Udel-3500) and polyethersulfone (Victrex) polymers have been made by using the above apparatus. The effects of spin-solution composition, length of air gap, and pressure used for fiber extrusion on fiber dimensions and ultrafiltration performance of the resulting membranes have been studied and are discussed. Keywords
