Abstract
Necrotizing fasciitis, a serious infection requiring prompt antibiotic and surgical therapy, previously has not been associated withHaemophilus aphrophilus. We report a case of necrotizing fasciitis associated with methylphenidate abuse from whichH aphrophiluswas isolated. Surgical and antibiotic therapy based on in vitro susceptibility testing resulted in eradication of the infection.
