Abstract
A dilute salt equilibration method for estimating plant‐available P was compared with the Bray P‐1 in a greenhouse‐correlation study. Both methods gave availability estimates significantly related to P uptake within groups of homogeneous soils. However, the dilute salt equilibration method was better related to P availability among groups of different soils. An apparent effect of previous crop on P availability was observed. Keywords
