Mean shock voltage required to wake 4 rats from ordinary sleep (characterized by high-amplitude, low-frequency EEG [electroencephalographic] waves) was significantly lower than that requiredcto wake them from "activated" sleep (characterized by regular 6-8 cps EEG waves).Keywords
