A Simple Method of Cutting Split Thickness Skin Grafts from Small Animals

Abstract
A simple and reliable method of obtaining split thickness skin grafts from the rabbit and rat is described. The skin to be used is stretched over a subcutaneous duraluminum block and is clamped tightly with a simple device. Free hand grafts are easily cut with a straight razor. Grafts of as much as 60 cm2 can be cut in a single sheet from a 300-g rat.
