Rupture of the Spleen

Abstract
THE purpose of this paper is to discuss 4 cases of erythroblastosis fetalis complicated by rupture of the spleen. In 3 infants exchange transfusion had been completed. In the other death occurred before definitive therapy. In each case splenic rupture was discovered at autopsy.The infrequency of this complication is established by the fact that a review of the literature yielded the report of only 1 such case, that of Slotkowski and Hand1 in 1948.
