Abstract
Plasma-free tryptophan is inversely related to the severity of subjective pain in 8 patients who fulfilled criteria for a variety of non-articular rheumatism, the fibrositis syndrome. The observation is consistent with animal and human studies suggesting a relationship between reduced brain serotonin metabolism and pain reactivity. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
