Abstract
Synopsis Experiments on sealed specimens of hardened cement paste, initially conditioned to different moisture contents, have shown that measured reductions in creep with age at loading were not due solely to hydration changes. A 50% reduction in creep with age at load was measured on non-hydrating specimens. There was a correlation between elastic and creep strains of specimens with a wide range of porosities and moisture contents which was age-dependent. The experimental results for hardened cement paste compare well with published data for concrete.
