Abstract
Morphology and taxonomy of the gasteroid, auricularioid heterobasidiomycetous fungi are discussed, as are relationships to other Heterobasidiomycetes. A new order, the Atractiellales, and three families, Hoehnelomycetaceae, Chionosphaeraceae fam. nov., and Phleogenaceae are recognized. Five genera are disposed within these families as follows: Agaricostilbum and Atractiella, Hoehnelomycetaceae; Stilbum and Chionosphaera, Chionosphaeraceae; Phleogena, Phleogenaceae. A genus of uncertain disposition, Pachnocybe is also discussed. New combinations proposed are Agaricostilbum hyphaenes (Har. & Pat.) Oberw. & Bandoni comb. nov. (= Pilacre hyphaenes Har. & Pat.); Atractiella delectans (Möller) Oberw. & Bandoni comb. nov. (= Pilacrelladelectans Möller); Atractiella solani (Cohn & Schroeter) Oberw. & Bandoni comb. nov. (= Pilacrella solani (Cohn & Schroet.)This publication has 13 references indexed in Scilit:
