Unusual Pleocytosis in Aseptic Meningitis

Abstract
To the Editor: It has been amply demonstrated that the initial pleocytosis in viral meningitis may be predominantly polymorphonuclear before shifting to the characteristic mononuclear response.1 We have been unable, however, to find reports documenting changes in pleocytosis similar to those seen in the following case of aseptic meningitis.One week before admission, while in Mexico, a 24-year-old airline stewardess experienced a self-limited, three-day diarrheal illness without fever.
