Abstract
The author discusses the soils of the arid west and major points of differences from the soils of the eastern U. S. P availability in calcareous western soils is < in many eastern soils. Organic matter is often low. Plants are often subject to chlorosis which may be caused by unavailability of Fe, Zn. Mn or other nutrients. Some irrigated soils are saline and here an excess of nutrient and non-nutrient salts may reduce plant growth. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
