Abstract
Daily Bermuda short period seismograms are compared with Sofar geophone records for a period of three years. Many short-period seismic signals were recorded on the geophone record that are not on the seismograms. Therefore, it is suggested that a geophone array could be most useful in determining regional seismicity in oceanic areas. The large number of geophone signals recorded gives some indication that the advantages of the expected quiet of the ocean bottom may be somewhat offset. Keywords
