Abstract
The forces between heavy elementary particles, i.e., neutrons and protons, are investigated on the hypothesis that they emit electron-positron pairs. It is also assumed that the interaction of the heavy particles with the field of light particles is large compared with the kinetic energy of the light particles. It is shown that potentials result which are of the same order of magnitude as the kinetic energy of the light particles. When many heavy particles interact the total potential energy is found to be proportional to the number of heavy particles. Keywords
