Abstract
In the ordinary spectroscopic measurements performed on a solution, the molecules have a random orientation. No anisotropic properties of the molecules can be detected in such systems because any vectorial properties a r e averaged out in all directions of space. Therefore, for the measurement of an anisotropic property such as the direction of transition moments absorbing light, it is necessary to locate the molecular axis in a laboratory-fixed coordinate system. Keywords
