Abstract
Synopsis: The method involves buffering the test system with oxalic acid to suppress growth of contaminating microorganisms; an incubation period of 8 days at 30° C. is recommended. From statistical analyses the A. niger assay can be used to predict satisfactorily the uptake of Zn by plants particularly if the effects of pH and clay content of the soil are taken into account when making the prediction. Keywords
