Abstract
The separation of sodium chloride and alcohols by ion exclusion was studied by an pulse response technique. Kinetic parameters were evaluated by the moment method. The HETP was calculated and the contributions of each mass transfer process to the HETP were elucidated. Both axial dispersion and intraparticle diffusion were dominant for alcohols. Agreement between experimental and calculated elution curves is excellent. Keywords
