Abstract
A two‐stage method is proposed for estimating production by the Hynes method. The approach involves first estimating the total number of individuals that developed into each size category and then calculating the losses in numbers between size categories and estimating production as the sum of biomass lost between successive size categories. The method avoids use of the average cohort concept which has led to some confusion with regard to the Hynes method. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
