Abstract
PERICARDIAL effusion due to chronic uremia may be controlled by hemodialysis alone or may, in addition, require aspiration or open drainage. It usually leaves no sequelae.1 , 2 The present report describes a patient in whom pericardial constriction followed recovery from hemorrhagic pericardial effusion. Awareness of this potential complication is important since major surgery is now feasible in patients with end-stage kidney failure under the cover of hemodialysis.3 Case ReportH.W.L., a 33-year-old man, was found to have an elevated blood pressure at 20 years of age and was treated sporadically with reserpine until June, 1966, when he was referred with the . . .Keywords
