Abstract
SUMMARY: In the mouse strain NZB, all individuals develop signs of an autoimmune hæmolytic anæmia between the ages of four and eight months. At about the same age areas of lymphocytic proliferation appear in the thymic medulla. This strain provides a laboratory model of human autoimmune disease and the characteristic thymic lesions point to the need for further study of the thymus in the human conditions. Keywords
