Abstract
Analgesic effects and side effects of, and circulatory and respiratory parameters of 50 mg dosage tramadol (Tramal) were compared with 0.3 mg dosage buprenorphine (Temgesic) in a double-blind, randomized study for the relief of patient''s postoperative pain. Buprenorphine produced a more potent and longer acting, although slightly delayed, analgesic effect compared to tramadol. There were few side effects. No influence on the circulation and respiration was noted. Tramadol apparently proved unable to replace buprenorphine in the control of postoperative pain. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
