Abstract
Measurements have shown a correlation between linewidth and amplitude noise in a single longitudinal mode of a semiconductor laser under stable DC operating conditions. Calculations have indicated that the noise produces a broadened linewidth and the apparent discrepancy between experiment and theory can in part be resolved. Keywords
