Subgroups of L Type Bence-Jones Proteins

Abstract
Summary: An antiserum has been prepared against a type L Bence-Jones protein (BJ 27) and a BJ 27 “fragment,” which contains only the distinctive peptides of this protein. The distribution of antigenic determinants of BJ 27 and BJ 27-“fragment” among a set of L type Bence-Jones proteins has been studied. L type proteins are heterogeneous with respect to antigenic determinants of the BJ 27-fragment. The inter pretation of these data is discussed.
