Abstract
Ninety-eight patients were operated on in the immediate postpartum period (two to four days). The advantages of postpartum hermorrhoidectomy, plus the factors that accompany pregnency which promote and hasten healing time, are discussed. The advantages indicate that this procedure should be done more frequently. Every effort should be made to inform obstetricians and proctologists of the benefits of operating early in the postpartum period. Keywords
