Abstract
Using radioactive tracer techniques, the diffusion coefficient of the sodium ions has been determined from room temperature to 600 degrees C. These diffusion results have then been compared with the ionic conductivity of similar beta "-alumina material. From this comparison a determination of the Haven ratio (HR) has also been made and a simple model is proposed that adequately predicts the observed magnitude of HR.Keywords
