Abstract
The study concerned workers' perception of how their leisure activities were hindered or facilitated by the shift-work schedule. Data were collected by questionnaire and interviews three times in a period of 2½ years. The workers rated time-flexible activities as being less hindered than inflexible ones. The relative number of hindered activities did not decrease during the period of study. The group of workers who had quit the job by the end of the period reported a greater number of hindered activities, in relation to the facilitated ones, than those who stayed in the job.
