Abstract
After a review of the metabolism and pharmacology of adenosine, this work will examine the various therapeutic possibilities involving the use of agonists or antagonists of adenosine A1 or A2 receptors in neurological disorders. Promising preclinical results have been obtained with epilepsy, cerebral ischemia, alcoholism, and pain.Keywords
