Abstract
A sample of 60 kindergarten children was studied intensively to determine whether the Pupil Rating Scale PRS would correlate as well with achievement measures as reported in Myklebust's normative sample. The study included one group test designed to measure general learning readiness Metropolitan Readiness Test, a group test more clearly tied to specific mastery of prereading tasks Lippincott Reading Readiness Test, and individual assessment of each child's knowledge of letters and numbers. The significant correlations with these measures of outcome provide considerable support for the use of the PRS in a kindergarten population. Keywords
