Abstract
The application is described of a commercially available image analysis system to the problem of consistently counting and determining the size distribution of large numbers of stained cell colonies on Petri dishes. A simple radiobiological experiment is described to demonstrate the close agreement between the extremely rapidly determined results obtained using the automated system and the results obtained using more time consuming conventional clone counting techniques. Keywords
