Abstract
[beta] hematin and hemin were used instead of a hematin and hemin. The unsatu-rated side chain of hemin was found not to be completely saturated after boiling with methyl alcohol containing 1% HCl. Hemin behaved differently toward various inorganic and organic acids. The different hema-tins varied in their resistance to hot HC1. Hemin gave a good yield of hematic acid from the reaction with acetic acid.
