Abstract
Ethanol intoxication has been noted to cause marked changes in brain and CSF levels of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). Using plasma GABA levels to assess brain GABA activity, the authors found that 85 chronic alcoholics had significantly lower levels than control subjects.Keywords
