Abstract
The effects of stimulated Raman crosstalk on two binary PCM channels, wavelength-multiplexed in a single optical fibre, are minimised by optimising the ratio of powers launched into each channel. The longest repeater spacings that could be achieved by increasing the launched powers are thereby obtained for two WDM channels of equal group velocity. Keywords
